How to choose a mouth guard?
We are going to provide you with all the tools so you know how to choose a mouth guard. Learn why we feel the Denta-Gard® Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouthguard is the best mouth guard. A lot of companies want you to choose a mouth guard they sell. After reading the information below, we are sure you will agree that the Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouthguard is the best.
There are many facts and features that will distinguish the Kid's Comfort PRO™ from other sports mouthguards. Choosing a sports mouthguard can be confusing. Our goal is to clarify some of the differences between mouthguards so you can choose a mouthguard that is best for your individual needs.
The Denta-Gard® Kid's Comfort PRO™ is the best due to:
Comfortable to wear
Soft and pliable, yet strong and tough. Comfortable to wear. Athletes tend to wear it more consistently than other sports mouthguards. Comfort is crucial for long periods of wear, especially in high-intensity sports, ensuring that athletes can perform at their best without distraction. An ill-fitting or bulky mouthguard can feel uncomfortable, making it difficult to breathe, speak, or focus on the game, leading some athletes to remove it or wear it improperly. Choosing a quality comfortable sports mouthguard enhances safety and encourages consistent use and better overall protection on the court.
Worn over dental braces
Does not counteract an orthodontist's technically and precisely planned movement. Therefore, preserving corrections and adjustments your orthodontist has scheduled.
Concussion reduction
This is an important, but controversial subject. There are no clinical trials to support the statement that a sports mouth guard will protect against concussions. One theory is that a mouth guard should dissipate and/or absorb the force of an upward blow to the jaw. It should be approximately 4mm in thickness on the occlusal surface. Our Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouthguard has all these properties. In addition, cushioning between upper and lower teeth can be effective at reducing the incidence or severity of concussions.
Protects both upper and lower teeth
Why wear a sports mouth guard that only protects half of your teeth? Our innovative design protects both upper and lower teeth at the same time.
Allows open-mouth breathing
As a result of the soft-flex technology and natural spring hinge, the Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouthguard allows open-mouth breathing and understandable speech.
Comfortable to wear
Soft and pliable, yet strong and tough. Our Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguard is comfortable to wear. Athletes tend to wear it more consistently than other mouth guards.
Virtually indestructible
Athletes tend to chew down the ends of traditional hard plastic mouth guards, as a result, coaches and trainers are unable to determine if the sports mouthguard is offering protection. By contrast, Kid's Comfort Pro™ sports mouthguards do not lend themselves to wearer destruction. Because it is tough, yet soft and durable, athletes do not chew it away.
Latex and BPA-free
Sports mouthguards made with latex or bisphenol A (BPA) can pose significant health risks to athletes. Latex, a common allergen, can cause mild to severe allergic reactions, including skin irritation, swelling, difficulty breathing, or even anaphylaxis in sensitive individuals.

The Denta-Gard® Kid's Comfort PRO™ does not fall into the standard three mouth guard category types listed below.
- Stock: Inexpensive and usually purchased at most sporting goods stores. In most cases, you can not wear with braces. They only cover the upper teeth and are usually bulky and make breathing difficult. They provide very little to no protection. Therefore, dentists typically do not recommend their use.
- Boil and bite: This can be purchased inexpensively at most sporting goods stores. Made of a thermoplastic material that you place in boiling water, then shape around teeth with your fingers. In most cases, they cannot be worn with braces. They cover the upper teeth only and are usually bulky and uncomfortable. kids tend to chew the ends down which eliminates any cushioning benefit.
- Custom-fit: Typically costs $300.00 and up, expensive and purchased from your Dentist. Consequently, to protect both upper and lower teeth, you will need to purchase two custom-fit guards.
