No Molding Needed For Kid's Comfort Pro Sports Mouth Guards

I cringe each time someone asks me how to mold a mouth guard. This tells me the person plans to only protect half their teeth and soft tissue. The Denta-Gard® Kid's Comfort PRO™ mouthguard does not require molding, and it protects both top and bottom teeth. There are many mouth guards on the market today. To wear most of those mouth guards, you need to know how to mold a mouth guard

How do you mold a mouthguard? How do I mold my mouthpiece? These are all questions you do not need to ask when you wear a Kid's Comfort PRO™ mouthguard.  This is one of the many features that will distinguish the Kid's Comfort PRO™ from other sports mouth guards. Choosing the best mouth guard can be confusing. Our goal is to clarify some of the differences between mouth guards so you can make the right choice for yourself.

Risks of molding a mouthguard in boiling water

Molding a mouth guard in boiling water can have several disadvantages, including improper fit, material degradation, and potential safety risks. If the water is too hot, the mouthguard may become overly soft, making it difficult to mold correctly and leading to an uncomfortable or loose fit that provides inadequate protection. Overheating can also weaken the material, reducing its durability and shock-absorption ability, which is crucial for preventing dental injuries during sports. Additionally, handling a freshly boiled mouthguard poses a risk of burns to both the child and the parent attempting to mold it. For young athletes, a poorly molded mouthguard can cause discomfort, difficulty breathing, and reluctance to wear it consistently. To ensure a proper fit and long-lasting protection, it is best to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully or opt for a natural fit mouthguard like Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguard, designed for comfort and safety.

Let's look at the Denta-Gard® Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouth guard

No molding or impressions needed

The Kid’s Comfort Pro Mouthguard features Natural Fit Technology, which provides a superior fit without the need for boiling or molding. This innovative design ensures a secure and comfortable fit right out of the package, allowing athletes to focus on their game without distractions. Unlike traditional mouthguards that require time-consuming customization, the Natural Fit Technology adapts seamlessly to teeth, offering enhanced protection and breathability. This not only improves ease of use but also ensures consistent shock absorption, reducing the risk of dental injuries while promoting open-mouth breathing during play.

Protects both upper and lower teeth

Kid's Comfort Pro Naturally Conforms - No Boiling

Why wear a mouth guard that only protects half of your mouth? Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguards protect both upper and lower teeth at the same time. When playing sports, protecting both the upper and lower teeth is essential to prevent dental injuries caused by accidental collisions, elbows, or falls. Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguards covers both arches and provides comprehensive protection by absorbing impact forces and reducing the risk of broken teeth, jaw injuries, and soft tissue damage.

While traditional mouthguards primarily shield the upper teeth, our mouthguard ensures that both the upper and lower teeth remain safeguarded during fast-paced play. Additionally, wearing a mouthguard can help reduce the risk of concussions by cushioning the jaw and minimizing shock transmission to the brain. To maximize protection and comfort, athletes should choose Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguards, durable mouthguard designed for full-coverage protection while maintaining breathability and comfort on the court.

Allows open-mouth breathing

Due to the natural spring hinge design, the Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouth guard allows open-mouth breathing and understandable speech. Open-mouth breathing can enhance athletic performance by increasing oxygen intake and reducing airway resistance during intense physical exertion. When athletes breathe through their mouths, they can take in larger volumes of air compared to nasal breathing, allowing for quicker oxygen delivery to muscles and faster removal of carbon dioxide.

Comfortable to wear

Soft and pliable, yet strong and tough. Its comfortable to wear. Athletes tend to wear it more consistently than other sports mouthguards. Comfort is crucial for long periods of wear, especially in high-intensity sports, ensuring that athletes can perform at their best without distraction. An ill-fitting or bulky mouthguard can feel uncomfortable, making it difficult to breathe, speak, or focus on the game, leading some athletes to remove it or wear it improperly. Choosing a quality, comfortable sports mouthguard enhances safety and encourages consistent use and better overall protection.

Will not counteract an orthodontist's technically and precisely planned movement. Therefore, preserving corrections and adjustments that your orthodontist has scheduled. Here are some testimonials from Orthodontists. Wearing a sports mouthguard over your braces while playing basketball is crucial for protecting both your teeth and orthodontic appliances from damage. Braces have metal brackets and wires that can cause severe cuts to the lips, cheeks, and gums if struck by an elbow, ball, or fall. Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguards act as a cushion, reducing the impact force and preventing brackets from breaking or wires from bending, which could lead to painful injuries and expensive orthodontic repairs. It is designed to fit comfortably over braces, providing enough space for tooth movement while ensuring maximum protection. Our braces-friendly mouthguard keeps your teeth, gums, and orthodontic work safe so you can focus on your game without worrying about dental injuries.

  1. Stock mouth guards: Inexpensive and usually purchased at most sporting goods stores. In most cases, you can not wear this mouth guard with braces. They only cover the upper teeth and are usually bulky and make breathing difficult. They provide very little to no protection. Therefore, dentists typically do not recommend their use.
  2. Boil and bite mouthguard: Inexpensively available at most sporting goods stores. Made of a thermoplastic material that you place in boiling water, then shape around teeth with your fingers. In most cases can not be worn with braces. Covers the upper teeth only and is usually bulky and uncomfortable. kids tend to chew the ends down which eliminates any cushioning benefit.
  3. Custom fitted mouthguard: Usually purchased from your Dentist, they are expensive and typically cost $300.00 and up. Consequently, in order to protect both upper and lower teeth, you will need to purchase two custom-fit guards.
