There are many benefits to wearing a sports mouthguard, not to mention most times it is required. Does it make sense to protect just your top teeth? Our Kid's Comfort Pro sports mouthguard protects both top and bottom teeth. If you happen to wear braces, it prevents orthodontic braces from scratching the soft tissue of your mouth. There is no need to boil or custom-fit our Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouthguard. Its soft-flex materials naturally form in the wearer's mouth for a secure fit.
The Kid's Comfort PRO™ sports mouthguard meets the NFHS mouthguard rule requirements.
The Denta-Gard® Kid's Comfort PRO™ does not fall into the standard three mouthguard category types listed below.
- Stock mouth guards: Inexpensive and usually purchased at most sporting goods stores. In most cases, you can not wear this mouthguard with braces. They only cover the upper teeth and are usually bulky and make breathing difficult. They provide very little to no protection. Dentists typically do not recommend their use.
- Boil and bite mouthguard: Inexpensive and available at most sporting goods stores. Made of a thermoplastic material that is placed in boiling water and then shaped around teeth with your fingers. In most cases can not be worn with braces. Covers the upper teeth only and is usually bulky and uncomfortable. kids tend to chew the ends down which eliminates any cushioning benefit.
- Custom-fit mouth guard: Typically cost $300.00 and up, expensive and purchased from your Dentist. In order to protect both upper and lower teeth, you will need to purchase two custom-fit guards.
